GRANDPARENTS’ BAG OF STORIES | SUDHA MURTY | BOOK REVIEW

GRANDPARENTS’ BAG OF STORIES

Author: Sudha Murty

Publisher: Penguin Books

Age Range: 9+

Short Summary:

A sequel to Grandma’s bag of stories, the setting of this book is from the time when the covid-19 pandemic hit the world. After Grandma’s bag of stories became a smash hit, Sudha Murty probably decided to write a sequel to it because why not? The book goes through how the kids are sent to their grandparents since covid is on the go and their life during the lockdown. And what's a visit to the village without stories from grandma?

There are a bunch of new characters in the book, new experiences, different things to learn in the village and of course tons of new stories told not only by grandma but also by grandpa and other new characters.

I’ll be honest, compared to grandma’s bag of stories I did find the book slightly underwhelming. The stories in the book are amazing, but the setting of the book wasn't really my taste in books. The book’s setting take place during covid, like I mentioned, so there weren't any particularly interesting experiences and the lack of some characters from the previous book was also another reason behind my slight disappointment. But I promise that the book is worth a read especially the stories.
